We decided to drive down from San Jose to Pismo Beach. I booked the Lighthouse Suites in Pismo beach since they have 2 bedroom suites, free breakfast and a playground and pool on-site. We got a nice ADA 2 king 2 bedroom suite. I didn’t know but apparently ADA rooms have lower beds so it’s safer for kids who sleep on the beds if they don’t know edges.

We started off from San Jose with a packed car around 10am. We thought that’s when Rylee would take her first nap. Jayden can stay awake and entertain himself until his nap time. It was unfortunate we ran into traffic on the way down in San Martin. Some guy was trying to jump off an overpass so Google rerouted us a long local way. That woke up the baby after just half an hour. Soooo the drive down was a bit stressful until both ended up falling asleep for about an hour. Thank goodness! We stopped at Atascadero to charge the car. And right next to the Tesla charger was a restaurant we walked to called Kogi. This was recommended to me on a mom’s group since they had a kids play room in the restaurant! That was cool. Jayden liked playing in there and also liked the kids meal they had (bulgogi specifically). We hung out there for a while then drove the last 30 mins to Pismo. That wasn’t too long.

We checked into the hotel and took a walk along the cliffs. It’s cool, one side you can head to Ventana Grill and a pagoda with a lot of birds around. The other side you head towards the pier and beach and there’s some bars/restaurants along the way like a bistro and a beer and pizza place.

We wandered back to the hotel and hit the pool for a bit and ordered DoorDash. The pool got really cold! Since the weather was cold. People enjoyed the jacuzzi but I couldn’t hang in there with a toddler. The rooms were super spacious. I slept with rylee in the main room while Danny took the second room that only had a curtain as a door with Jayden.

The next morning we got breakfast at the cafeteria area and headed to the playground. Jayden played some mini golf and hung out on the playgrounds. We went to Avila beach after.
